Representation That Works, Built on Student Voices, Change That Lasts.

Polumbus - Aimad

We’re Kayden Polumbus and Muhubo Aimad, and we’re running to build a student government that actually works for every student at CU Denver. At the core of our campaign is a simple belief that student government should listen to students, take action on what matters, and follow through with real results.

We want to make sure students are not just represented, but genuinely included in the decisions that impact their experience. That means pushing for more transparency, clearer communication, and stronger accountability so students know what is happening and have a real voice in shaping it. We also believe affordability and accessibility need to stay a priority, so every student has the opportunity to succeed without added financial stress.

Beyond that, we are focused on strengthening campus life by supporting programs and ideas that improve student wellbeing and build a more connected community. Student government should not feel distant or disconnected. It should be something students can engage with and rely on.

Our goal is to create a culture where every student feels heard and knows their voice matters. By increasing outreach and working more closely with students and organizations across campus, we want to make student government more responsive, more inclusive, and more effective for everyone.

Our Campaign Focus

Affordability

We will prioritize cost-efficient initiatives that reduce the financial burden placed on students. By limiting unnecessary fee increases and exploring alternative funding models, our administration will advocate for solutions that keep education accessible. Programs like ASCP surveying online students demonstrate how thoughtful planning can support student services without adding additional costs to students.

Voter Engagement

Student government works best when students are involved. We will strengthen outreach across campus to ensure students understand how decisions are made and how they can participate in shaping them. By connecting with student organizations and campus communities, we aim to build a culture where every student feels their voice matters.

Commitment

The Polumbus–Aimad Administration is committed to building a stronger, more connected CU Denver that works for every student. Our administration will work tirelessly to represent the broader student body, listen to student concerns, and take meaningful action on the changes students want to see on our campus.

We are the administration that voted to overturn the veto on the resolution for the ICE Badge Access Policy - Your Representation Matters!

Accountability

Students are the primary stakeholders at CU Denver, and their voices must be central in university decision-making. Our administration will push for transparency, clear communication, and stronger student representation in major campus policies. Whether it is contracts, technology decisions, or institutional policies, students deserve a seat at the table.

Innovation

CU Denver has strong programs and resources that should be fully supported and expanded. We will prioritize initiatives that improve student wellbeing and campus life, including programs like the Phoenix Center and reforms to how student funding is distributed. By investing in what works, we can ensure student government continues to evolve and better serve the campus community.

About

My name is Kayden Polumbus, and I am a third-year student at the University of Colorado Denver, dual-majoring in Public Policy and International Studies. I am passionate about public service, student advocacy, and ensuring that student government works effectively and accountably for the students it represents.

This year, I have had the honor of serving as Chief Justice of the Student Government Association, where I worked to strengthen the foundation of our student governance system. One of my primary focuses has been helping lead the revitalization and modernization of our governing documents to ensure they are clear, effective, and capable of serving future generations of students. Strong institutions create strong representation, and I believe this work is essential to making student government more transparent and accountable. Beyond institutional reform, I have worked to support policies that improve the student experience and protect student interests. I have advocated for initiatives such as the ICE Out badge access policy, which helps ensure safer and more accessible campus spaces, and supported efforts to halt the implementation of the CU OpenAI contract until student concerns and governance processes were properly considered.

Throughout my time at CU Denver, I have focused on building stronger connections across campus communities. I believe student government should not operate in isolation but should actively collaborate with student organizations, campus partners, and the broader student body to create meaningful change. I am running for Student Body President because I believe CU Denver students deserve leadership that listens, acts with integrity, and works to strengthen the institutions that are supposed to represent them.

About

My name is Muhubo Aimad, and I am a second-year Economics major deeply committed to student advocacy and campus involvement. As Vice President of the Pre-Law Society, I have worked to foster student engagement and leadership while gaining a deeper understanding of the needs and challenges student organizations face.

My journey in student government began from the perspective of both a student and an organization leader, driven by a desire to more effectively advocate for student interests. This year, I have had the honor of serving as a Finance and Funding Senator, where I worked with over multiple student organizations. I have gained tangible experience into how we can better support the initiatives that make our campus vibrant, diverse, and unique.

I'm committed to elevating student voices and ensuring they are heard in the spaces where decisions are made. Similarly to my running mate, I have supported key initiatives such as the ICE Out Badge Access policy and efforts to prevent the implementation of the AI Contract, always prioritizing the needs and concerns of students.

As Vice President, I aim to build on this work by ensuring that representation is not only promised, but genuinely felt in the everyday experiences of CU Denver students. I am committed to serving with integrity, amplifying student voices, and delivering meaningful change where it matters most.
